Nuvoton M253 Series Products

The NuMicro M253 series is based on the Armv8-M instruction set architecture and features an Arm Cortex-M23 core, with a maximum operating frequency of up to 48 MHz. It supports up to 128 KB of Flash memory and 16 KB of SRAM. The M253 series integrates one CAN FD interface and a USB 2.0 Full-Speed device controller.

Key Features of the Nuvoton M253 Series

1. Wide Temperature and Voltage Support with High Noise Immunity

Supports an operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C and a working voltage range of 1.75 V to 5.5 V. The series also offers high noise immunity, with up to 7 kV HBM ESD and 4.4 kV EFT protection.

2. Enhanced USB 2.0 Full-Speed Device Capability

The USB 2.0 Full-Speed device does not require an external crystal oscillator and supports up to 17 endpoints and up to five virtual communication channels (VCOMs). It includes a built-in 1 KB RAM buffer for data handling.

3. Support for Multiple Serial Interfaces

The device includes five UART interfaces with 16 / 16-byte bidirectional FIFO buffers and PDMA support. In addition, one USCI interface can also be configured as a serial port.

4. More Stable CAN FD Support

a) One integrated CAN FD interface with a built-in 1 KB SRAM data buffer, backward compatible with the CAN 2.0B protocol.

b) CAN FD supports communication speeds of up to 10 Mb/s, with a maximum payload of 64 data bytes per frame.

The USB 2.0 Full-Speed device of the M253 series supports up to 17 endpoints, enabling five-channel full-function serial port expansion, or four-channel full-function serial ports plus one CAN FD interface expansion. Standard USB device drivers can be used directly under Android or Linux systems.
