【New Infrastructure for Big Data Center series 2 of 3】 NuMicro M480 for UPS

The uninterrupted power system (UPS) aims to maintain a stable power supply in grid supply anomalies to ensure the steady operation of electronic systems and prevent data losses. In other words, the UPS is mainly designed for business equipment, such as the server systems of data centers, telecommunication base stations, government entities, companies and firms, financial institutions, and some civilian equipment. Based on architecture, the three major types of UPS include online UPS, line-interactive UPS, and offline UPS.

Why is the NuMicro M480 series suitable for the UPS?

  1. ARM Cortex-M4-based with a core speed of 192MHz and DSP support to enhance computing efficiency speed.
  2. Support dual 12-bit 5-MSPS ADC and provide 24 ADC channels for full support of voltage and current samplings of the UPS.
  3. Two built-in comparators for overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection.
  4. Up to 24 channels of 16-bit PWM output with full support for IGBT power module control.
  5. Support communication interfaces including CAN2.0B, UART, USB HS (built-in PHY), and USB FS (built-in PHY).
  6. Provide packages including QFN33, LQFP48, LQFP64, LQFP128, and LQFP144 for support up to 114 I/O to realize control of a large number of relays.

In addition to the UPS, Nuvoton launches microcontrollers that support the SNMP control card and TFT-LCD display (advanced products):

  1. SNMP Control Card
