Meet us at The Battery Show North America 2026!
Nuvoton is excited to announce our participation in The Battery Show North America, held in Detroit, Michigan this October.
At this year's event, Nuvoton will showcase advanced battery monitoring and management solutions for automotive, energy storage, and AI infrastructure applications at The Battery Show North America 2026.
At our booth, Nuvoton will showcase battery-related technologies, including a next-generation EIS-enabled Battery Monitoring IC (BM-IC), an industrial BM-IC, and a Wireless Battery Management System (WBMS) solution, as well as Gerda™, our automotive HMI solution.
Visit our booth to learn more about Nuvoton's latest technologies supporting safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility and energy applications.
6th-Generation Automotive BM-IC with Integrated EIS Technology
Nuvoton's 6th-generation automotive BM-IC integrates cell voltage, current, and impedance (EIS) measurement into a single chip, enabling quantification of internal battery conditions. Integrated EIS technology and proprietary algorithms support battery degradation diagnosis, lifetime prediction, and early detection of signs of cell abnormalities, contributing to improved safety in vehicles and energy storage systems.
A proprietary inductor-based measurement method reduces PCB temperature rise during EIS measurements by approximately 93% compared with conventional methods, while EIS analysis algorithms help accelerate implementation of EIS-based battery diagnostics.
Industrial BM-IC for High-Voltage Battery Systems with Daisy-Chain Connectivity and Ultra-Low Power Consumption
Nuvoton's production-ready industrial BM-IC delivers high accuracy, scalability, and reliability for high-voltage battery management systems. Supporting up to 16 battery cells per IC, it simplifies monitoring of large battery packs while reducing system complexity and wiring requirements through daisy-chain connectivity. Integrated self-diagnostics and cell balancing functions help improve system safety and reliability.
With an industry-leading shutdown current as low as 0.1 μA, the BM-IC extends battery shelf life and improves overall system efficiency in AI data center Battery Backup Units (BBUs), Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and industrial backup power applications. Nuvoton also plans to provide a reference design to help customers accelerate development and reduce time-to-market.
Simplifying Battery Pack Design with Wireless Connectivity
Wireless Battery Management Systems (WBMS) help reduce wiring, lower system complexity, and enable more flexible battery pack architectures. Nuvoton's new BLE 5.4 test chip features a dual-RF architecture that enables independent PAwR communication on separate channels, delivering battery data acquisition in less than 10 ms with exceptional communication robustness. Designed for automotive applications, it supports ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional safety and ISO/SAE 21434 CAL-4 cybersecurity to help ensure safe, secure, and reliable battery system operation.
Automotive HMI Solutions Gerda™ Enabling Safety and Comfort
As vehicle electrification continues to expand, advanced HMI systems play an important role in delivering intuitive and informative user experiences. Gerda™ offers safe and comfortable HMI solutions with a variety of image processing and security functions. Its large embedded RAM enables highly functional systems without the need for external memory, reducing components and system cost. With a wide range of video input interfaces, image quality adjustment, and advanced 2.5D graphics, Gerda™ supports high-quality displays for next-generation automotive applications, such as meter clusters and e-mirrors.
