Automotive NUC131U CAN Microcontroller for Automotive Radar

Led by the trend of autonomous vehicles and new energy vehicles, the entire automobile industry is encountering significant change and transformation. By rapidly developing into an intelligent sector, the automobile industry also integrates various sensing technologies to speed up the electronic degree. In major automatic systems, the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) refer to a technical advancement process to achieve a driverless vehicle. Instead of controlling the vehicle automatically, the main function of ADAS is to assist the driver in analyzing the information related to the vehicle situation and environmental changes and warning the driver against possible dangers. This enables the drivers to take countermeasures in advance and avoid traffic accidents.

The automotive radar is the most important point. Aiming at the automotive radar, Nuvoton introduced the first automotive controller NuMicro® NUC131U. NUC131xU is a 32-bit Cortex®-M0 microcontroller especially introduced by Nuvoton to meet the automobile application. With operating frequency reaching 50MHz, the microcontroller provides CAN 2.0B communication architecture with high efficiency, reliability, and anti-interference to assist the designer in finding an economical and efficient solution for their application. It applies to devices such as the automotive radar, OBD, and HUD.
