Those products lines also have distinguishing features, such as low power consumption, 5V industrial grade, USB, encryption, and high-security level. Supporting different software and high pin compatibility give clients convenience for products selection, development, and upgrade. In addition, Nuvoton provides a complete development system including a versatile software development environment, development tools, evaluation boards, programmer tools, visualized development software, and mass production tools. Nuvoton will present a full service from products, development, debugging, to mass production in this seminar.
During the event, Nuvoton will present four themes of applications incorporating newly launched microcontrollers: Industrial Control, Low Power Applications, IoT Security, and Smart Home Appliances. Industrial Control includes factory remote data collecting, environment monitoring, smart number recognition, and interactive Human Machine Interface (HMI) Solution. Low Power Applications include electronic locks and shelf labels. IoT Security includes USB FIDO key for identity security and fingerprint secure IoT door lock. Smart Home Appliances include temperature detection high-speed blender and interactive power outlet. For IoT applications, Nuvoton reference applications support several RTOS including Mbed OS, Amazon FreeRTOS, AliOS Things, and rich IoT communication protocol, which makes building IoT applications development platform with high security and cloud connectivity very easy.

Industrial Control – incorporating NuMicro® NUC980, N9H30, M487, NDA102 microcontrollers

Nuvoton Industrial Control reference applications include: Remote Terminal Unit, Smart Number Recognition, Interactive HMI Solution, DALI Digital Lighting Control, and Integrated IoT Development Platform.
Industrial Remote Terminal Unit adopts NuMicro® NUC980 series microcontroller with core ARM9. The NUC980 series operates up to 300 MHz and has internal crypto accelerators and Ethernet. It could be used for factory monitoring and automation control with Wi-Fi/ 4G LTE/ NB-IoT modules.
Smart Number Recognition adopts NuMicro® M480 series microcontroller with Arm® Cortex®-M4. This demo captures water, electricity, and gas meter numbers, using machine learning neural network algorithms to identify. The information can be transmitted to the cloud through Wi-Fi or NB-IoT to realize the auto meter reader function after the identification.
Based on the experience with clients, the demand for interactive HMI is increasing. Therefore, Nuvoton released N9H20/30 and M480 series microcontrollers and free emWin graphics software tool. Nuvoton provides HMI solution to help clients save development time and complete interactive graphics interface with high quality and efficiency.
DALI Digital Lighting Control adopts NuMicro® NDA102 series microcontroller with Arm® Cortex®-M0. The solution is based on Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) technology. This solution includes certified DALI library built by Nuvoton.

Low Power Applications – incorporating the latest NuMicro® M251, ML51 microcontrollers

Nuvoton Low Power Applications include: four-in-one Smart Electronic Lock and Electronic Shelf Label.
Four-in-one Smart Electronic Lock adopts the latest low power NuMicro® M251 series microcontroller with Arm® Cortex®-M0 core. This demo set supports password, fingerprint, RFID card and App remote door-opening function. The product execution time can be extended up to twelve months with the deep power-down mode which consumes less than 1.3 μA.
Electronic Shelf Label adopts the latest low power NuMicro® ML51 with 8051 core. Based on LoRa protocol with wireless update data and information function. The system sends data from PC by LoRa host to one or more LoRa devices, updating the information on E-paper display.

IoT Security – incorporating NuMicro® M2351 microcontroller which complies with Arm® PSA Level 1 certification

Nuvoton IoT Security includes: Arm® Pelion Secure IoT Device Management supported by M2351, USB FIDO Key for Identity Security, and Fingerprint Secure IoT Door Lock.
The Pelion IoT Platform is a flexible, secure, and efficient foundation spanning connectivity, device, and data management. It accelerates the time to value of your IoT deployments by helping you easily connect trusted IoT devices on global networks, invisibly administer them, and extract real-time data from them to drive competitive advantages.
The Fast Identification Online (FIDO) Identity supported USB Flash memory drive with dual security features of the NuMicro®M2351 microcontroller and SunASIC® fingerprint sensor module, compliant with the Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) protocol. It could be applied to identity identification applications.

Smart Home Appliances – incorporating NuMicro® MS51, M031, M487, NUC029 microcontrollers

Smart Home Appliances include Smart Toilet, Temperature Detection High-Speed Blender, Machine Learning Speech recognition, Interactive Power Outlet, OLED Flash Drive, and PM2.5 Laser detection Module.
The High-Speed Blender adopts the latest NuMicro® MS51 series microcontroller with 8051 core. It realizes the wireless temperature detection while the motor is operating at high speed.
PM2.5 Laser detection Module adopts the latest NuMicro® M031 series microcontroller with Arm® Cortex®-M0 core. It supports 2 MSPS ADC and collects data of PM2.5 fast and precisely.
Interactive Power Outlet shows multiple technical capabilities. This reference design uses the emWin engine based on HMI by the TFT LCD touch screen input to control the power switches of AC and USB outlets. It also shows the real-time current and power consumption of each turned-on power outlet on the power station’s screen and the ON/OFF state on a remote cell phone.
