SAN JOSE, Calif. – Feb. 6th, 2012 –Nuvoton Technology Corporation today introduced a stereo DAC with 2Vrms Line Out. The NAU8402 is a high quality 24-bit stereo DAC with 2Vrms analog output capability. This device is ideal for the consumer digital audio applications that need 2Vrms outputs, such as set-top boxes, digital TV, A/V receivers and media DVD / Blu-ray players.

The NAU8402 features a robust, high-fidelity, 24-bit signal architecture delivering 98dB digital-to-analog converter (DAC) signal to noise ratio (SNR) at audio sampling rates from 8kHz to 96kHz. The audio interface operates I2S slave mode.

The NAU8402 includes an integrated charge pump enabling true ground referenced outputs and full 5.6Vpp output levels, while operating from only a single 3.3V supply voltage. Moreover, the true ground referenced outputs eliminate the output line driving coupling capacitors. This enables fast and efficient system integration while minimizing external component costs. The NAU8402 also includes automatic pop/click elimination features and high immunity to power supply and other system noise.

Availability, Pricing

The NAU8402 is available in a 16-lead TSSOP package. The packaged part is priced below US$0.95 in quantities of 1,000. Samples and evaluation boards are available today.
