Hsinchu, Taiwan , Jul. 5, 2012 — Nuvoton Technology Corporation announced its first 16-channel Speech/Melody Synthesizer with embedded 8Mbit OTP (One Time PROM) solution, W567CP80. It is suitable for the application of Instrument Toys, ELA, Keyboards, Infant Toys and Home Appliance with high quality Speech/Melody playback. W567CP80 is an OTP product to cover ROM version bodies of W567Cxxx and W567Jxxx that may dramatically reduce the lead time and save mask tooling charge for pilot run or sample evaluation.

W567CP80 is built-in 8-bit 65C02 and provides a high resolution wavetable melody synthesizer to playback up to 16-channel melody with high fidelity MIDI quality. 2-channel of it is reserved for Speech output with Noise Shaping technology to implement high sound quality.

About the features, W567CP80 provides 24 bidirectional shared I/O pins, including one port for high sink capability, 3 I/O with 8-bit H/W PWM function to drive LEDs or control motor with high resolution. It also comes with a serial interface for the application of SPI Flash memory extension.

Nuvoton Technology also provides program service to help customer program code into it to save customer's developing time.
