Nuvoton Technology Holds Investor Conference for the second quarter of 2015.

Nuvoton Technology Corporation (TSE: 4919) and its parent company, Winbond Electronics Corporation (TSE: 2344), held a joint investor conference today (31) to announce operating results for the second quarter of 2015 and future prospects. The consolidated operating revenue in the second quarter of 2015 was about NT$ 1.924 billion, an increase of 18% and 2% on QoQ and YoY basis respectively. Net income in the second quarter was NT$ 160 million with earnings per share of NT$ 0.77, an increase of 67% QoQ and a decrease of 11% YoY.

Nuvoton indicated that the 18% QoQ increment in the second quarter of 2015 was mainly the result of traditional peak season for consumer electrics and foundry business. The sales revenue for ARM® Cortex® - M0 32-bit MCU applying on model airplanes, ETC, personal healthcare devices and wireless connectivity modules and ARM®9 Video SoC for flying cameras, IP Cam and video door phones both elevated over time; and the incremental demand for TPM (Trusted Platform Module) IC also contributed towards the quarterly revenue growth.

Nuvoton persists in the innovation of products and technologies. This quarter, Nuvoton introduced higher cost/performance ARM® Cortex® - M4 M451 MCU for high performance and precision applications, and also ARM®9 SoC and ARM® Cortex®- M0 MCU for flying cameras and model airplanes. As low power products have become the mainstream of the market, Nuvoton further launched ultra-low power audio CODEC IC for portable audio applications. Nuvoton also started pilot production of ARM® Cortex®- M4 Based SIO (Super I/O)/EC (Embedded controller) for PCs. Through the fact that Nuvoton’s TPM 1.2 IC passed Common Criteria EAL4+ Certification, Nuvoton security IC is internationally recognized. In foundry business, low power light sensor process for mobile devices commenced its pilot production in Q2.

In future prospects, Nuvoton will launch a series of new products, including  ARM® Cortex® - M0 32-bit MCU for wireless charger, model airplanes and OBD (On-Board Diagnostics); MCU with LCD Driver for smart home appliances; Audio CODEC IC for PCs and M2M (Machine to Machine) applications. Nuvoton continues to develop and expand product applications by debuting TPM, Power IC and SIO/EC for Intel® Skylake platform; and TPM 2.0 IC for desktop, notebook and server. Nuvoton will hold MCU applications roadshows in Taiwan and China Market in order to provide immediate counseling services. For foundry service, Nuvoton provides new foundry service processes including 0.35um 40V/60V/80V BCD processes and 0.35um process for motor drivers, continuing to fulfill to market requirements.
