Nuvoton is sharing the Joy of Innovation at Embedded World 2017 in Germany
Hsinchu, Taiwan – Mar 1st, 2017 – Nuvoton Technology Corporation, a leading microcontroller provider, is going to present popular applications including the NuMaker Miniature Greenhouse featuring NuMaker PFM IoT platform, the AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System) module, and the Gaming Mouse solution; as well as the latest Cortex®-M NuMicro™ Family microcontrollers— M480, NUC126, M0564 and NUC970 series at Embedded World 2017 in Nuremberg, Germany, from Mar 14th to 16th.
Innovative applications on display this year includes:
- The NuMaker Miniature GreenhouseIoT System – an intelligent environment which implemented the ARM® mbed Enabled™ NuMaker-PFM-NUC472 as the gateway, the NuMaker-PFM-M453 and a part of the NuMaker Brick as device nodes with RF connectivity and sensors. Data can be collected via device nodes and securely transferred to cloud service for analysis and to remote control the environment system.
- The AHRS Module – uses the M452 series microcontroller with Cortex-M4F core for strong computing abilities, and includes multiple sensors and gyro to provide accurate attitude and heading measurements. Its maximum attitude sample rate can exceed 1 kHz for instant feedback, and it comes in the compact size of 3.4 by 3.4cm. Potential applications include VR glasses, sweeping robot, and other balance-related applications.
- Gaming Mouse Solution – uses the NUC121/NUC125 series microcontroller with Cortex-M0 core which supports crystal-less USB transfer. It offers 24-ch PWM output to drive breathing light control, and is embedded with data Flash to store function key definition and DPI setting. To effectively protect intellectual property, SPROM (Secure Protection ROM) is also provided. The NUC125 series further supports independent power management pin VDDIO from 1.8V to 5.5V to allow more flexibility in designs.
The latest NuMicro Family product highlights include:
- M480 – with Cortex-M4F core, the M480 series operates at up to 200 MHz with 175μA/MHz power consumption. It supports USB 2.0 HS/FS OTG with on-chip PHY and 10/100M Ethernet MAC with RMII for applications that require high-speed data processing such as fingerprint recognition and industrial controls.

NUC126 – with Cortex-M0 core, the NUC126 series operates at up to 72 MHz. It supports 144 MHz PWM timer and crystal-less Full Speed USB 2.0, and is ideal for USB control-related applications.
- M0564 – Cortex-M0 core, operates at up to 72 MHz, features an integrated hardware divider for firmware execution improvement and adjustable VDDIO pins with a wide range of voltage from 1.8V to 5.5V for external peripherals, and is suitable for smart meter applications.
- NUC970 –ARM926EJ-S microprocessor core, offers MCP DDR memory in LQFP package, supports dual High Speed USB 2.0 host and dual Ethernet 10/100Mb MAC for IoT gateway applications.
