Nuvoton Technology Holds Investor Conference for the third quarter of 2015.
Nuvoton Technology Corporation (TSE: 4919) and its parent company, Winbond Electronics Corporation (TSE: 2344), held a joint investor conference today (27) to announce operating results for the third quarter of 2015 and future prospects. The consolidated operating revenue in the third quarter of 2015 was about NT$ 1.987 billion, an increase of 3% and 11% on QoQ and YoY basis respectively. Net income in the third quarter was NT$ 148 million with earnings per share of NT$ 0.71, a decrease of 8% QoQ and an increase of 69% YoY.
Nuvoton indicated that the revenue in the third quarter of 2015 increased due to the growth of ARM® Cortex®- M0 32-bit MCU applying on drone, ETC, personal healthcare devices and wireless connectivity modules; higher shipment of ARM® Cortex® - M4 32-bit MCU applying on GPS tracker and video game joystick; and the incremental sales of ARM® 9 Video SoC for flying camera and video baby monitor. In addition, Nuvoton started the shipment of TPM (Trusted Platform Module) IC, Power IC and SIO (Super I/O)/EC (Embedded controller) for Intel® Skylake Platform.
In third quarter, Nuvoton continued to work on developing new products and applications, including the shipment of ARM® 9 SoC for data concentrators as well as the design win of Audio CODEC for IP Cameras and personal computers. Meanwhile, Nuvoton expanded the applications of ARM® Cortex® - M4 MCU for industrial and mass market. Nuvoton also started the mass production of ARM® Cortex® - M4 Based SIO /EC for personal computers. In foundry business, 0.35um 40V BCD process for power IC and low power light sensor process for mobile devices commenced mass production. Nuvoton has passed FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) certification in this quarter, becoming the world’s first TPM IC provider received FIPS certification, Common Criteria EAL4+ and TCG (Trusted Computing Group) certification. This also proved that the quality and reliability of Nuvoton security products are internationally recognized.
In future prospects, Nuvoton will launch a series of new products, including ARM® Cortex® - M4 32-bit MCU in pen drive designed for iPhone® ; MCU with LCD driver and touch key MCU for smart home appliances; and high performance 1T 8051 MCU for LED and industrial control. Nuvoton continues to develop and expand product applications by debuting Audio CODEC IC for PC stick and Chromebook; and TPM 2.0 IC for desktop, notebook and server. For foundry service, Nuvoton provides new processes including 0.35um 600V/120V HVIC processes for motor drivers and 0.35um 60V/80V BCD processes for power IC, continuing to fulfill customers' demands.
