The Fan is device which uses motor to convert electrical energy into wind. Motor can be divided into AC and DC motor. Specifically, the DC motor can be divided into the brush and brushless motor. Due to the need of three pairs of complementary PWMs with dead time output and high-speed A/D conversion, and comparator to drive the three-phase brushless DC motor, the NuMicro M051™ is suitable for DC brushless motor fan applications.

The NuMicro M051™ series provides a high-performance and low-cost 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M0 core, runs up to 50 MHz at 2.5V ~ 5.5V, -40℃ ~ 105℃, and supports 32-bit hardware multiplier with hardware divider, 64 KB Flash and 4 KB SRAM, highly integrated 12-bit ADC and high sample range 1 MSPS, three pares PWM output (include complementary and dead time) , high-precision 22 MHz oscillator to reduce system BOM cost, and rich peripheral such as I²Cx2, SPIx2, UARTx2, Anti-theft lock code bit, 96-bit Unique ID and 128-bit Unique customer ID, and strong Anti-jamming ability (ESD 8kV, EFT 4kV) . Based on the above features, the NuMicro M051TM series is a very cost-effective DC brushless motor fan solution.
