Nuvoton Technology Corp. was founded upon the expectation of the future to create a new era by innovative inspiration.

Nuvoton Technology Corp. was carved-out as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Winbond Electronics Corp. in July 2008. Nuvoton has extended Winbond’s product lines of Computer Logic IC business; core technology, partnerships; customers and sales etc. prior to the curve-out, as well as continues to enhance product innovation and to comprehend the needs of terminal application market, and provide superior service to our customers based on the existing foundation.

Nuvoton holds a high market share of the motherboard I/O controller as we inherited Winbond’s years of experience in Computer Logic ICs related field. We continually launched more products, like TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and Sideshow controller etc., to meet the diversified application requirements of the computer systems. The consumer ICs focus on the product design of consumer ICs, speech ICs, multimedia ICs. We have earned customers’ trust by performing profound design capability.

In line with Nuvoton’s valuing of it long-term relationship with its partners and customers, Nuvoton has set up subsidiaries in the USA, China and Israel to strengthen regional customer support service and global management. In order to improve the yield rates, supply chain management, and customer satisfaction, Nuvoton has implemented a rigid standard on the manufacturing flow control and on the quality control system.

Our Name

Nuvoton is a concatenation of two words:

"Nuvo" of which pronunciation is close to "New" in French (Nouveau).

The English "ton" which sounds like "Tang" to represent the “Tang Dynasty”. The "Tang" Dynasty was a period in China’s history renowned for achievements in innovation, business development and cultural exchange with other countries.

Nuvoton symbolizes the company’s vision to usher in a new Tang Dynasty in the IC industry by becoming an indispensable partner to industry leaders through innovation excellence, strong customer relationships and global talent.
